Carnivals for your reading:
-- Christian
-- Bonfire (where I win the distinction of having the worst post ever).
-- Vanities (It's not up yet, but it will be)
It's up.
Posted by: Aaron's Rantblog at March 11, 2004 5:00 PMCould you elaborate on this for the uninitiated?
I know about the Christian Carnival, but what about the other two?
Posted by: Douglas at March 11, 2004 5:02 PMI don't know about the Christian Carnival.
Posted by: Christopher at March 11, 2004 9:21 PMThe Carnivals are a weekly gathering of posts that bloggers submit of their own volition, each one built around a general theme.
Christian Carnival -- the best post of the previous week (in your own estimation) that is either directly or indirectly relevant to Christians.
Vanities -- The best post you have to offer this week.
Bonfire -- Your worst post of the week (the "Did-I-really-post-that???" entry).
I've only seen it spike traffic once, in the case of the Vanities. As much as anything, it is fun for me to be included in a list that I'll invariably scroll through, in order to read new (to me) writers about the events of the world, both serious and sublime.
Each Carnival offers subscription service, so you can be reminded of the impending deadline for submissions. I'll eventually host, but not for a little while, I'm still getting comfortable in my new skin.
