A few dozen gloryhounds delusionals citizens have sent in an application to Showtime TV's new farce reality program The American Candidate. Some campaign slogans from the wannabes:

• why the heck not?


• can't we all just get a bong?


• don't you wish youc could just cut the heads off the politicians who don't keep their promises?


• the US military must practice transcendental meditation


• the lesbian, vegan, counter-cultural lesbian everybody can relate to!


• I am the iron fist in the velvet glove


• justice can be served by doing something funny


• the gig pays 400 grand a year...and that's in my ballpark
