New Category Alert
Posted by Bryan

We're introducing a new category at Spare Change. It's called Marginal Theology.

Here's how you play the game. From time to time, our contributors will provide a reference from the Scripture, and then add the commentary to it that he or she has written to it within the margins of his or her Bible. You are cordially invited to open up your own Bible to add your own comments from the same passage, a contextual passage, or corresponding passage.

The idea here is simple-- we'll be proving out Hebrews 4:12 that the Word of God is alive and that the Spirit speaks to us as we are cut to our marrow by His Word. We are sharing how the Spirit has convicted, compelled, encouraged, or refocused us by being confronted by the inerrant Holy Word of God.

I look forward to sharing how God has blessed and challenged me (in these areas where I have recorded it within the pages of my Thompson's Chain Reference Bible), and I also look forward to getting out my pen to add some of the gems that will inevitably be unearthed as we progress in this.

That's a great idea. I have tons of notes in the Bible I started using in college.

I am one of those weirdos that never writes in any books. Didn't write in any text college books and haven't in any of me Bibles. I guess I will have to look up in my notes on my computer or handheld. (Not only am I a weirdo, I am a geek too.)

I'm glad to get positive feedback on this...especially from you two. Regardless of where the notes originate,I'm really looking forward to seeing what ends up here.
