Blogging *may* be light this weekend, because my home PC jumped from the Cessna and forgot to pull the ripcord.
Yesterday morning, I ran the spyware eliminator (I knew we had a problem when i got a pop-up for a metal tongue stud -- that phrase looks as inappropriate as it sounds, by the way). It eliminated the spyware. As well as a couple vital components, too. Last night I was on the phone with Dell customer service agent Tahrah (phonetic spelling for your benefit) from India (I know because I asked), who was wonderfully helpful in getting me halfway to a solution. Tahrah didn't mind me asking where she was, but she did seem a little uncomfortable when I asked her if the outsourcing controversy was as big of a deal there as it was here.
I attempted to placate her by telling her I simply appreciated her patience and helping me. I wanted to ask her about the elections over there, but she really wasn't interested in chitchat, from what I could discern.
So, My winsocks are mismatched or sockets.ini has blown a fuse...I'm not really sure...but the net result is that I have no 'Net. I'm bringing home my laptop because I do have a ton of writing/editing to do before I leave for Canada next week. I just love how technology has simplified my life.
