The Unintended Consequence of Growing Up in a Home of Writers
Posted by Bryan

Kelsi, our youngest, has been with us for 27-and-a-half months. Her developing vocabulary has been the regular subject of blog fodder.

She's still working on some concepts. For example, when she's in need of SPF 50, she asks for scum scream. And when she requests to be dismissed from the dinner table, she asks, "May I be snecksnoozed....puh-leeeeeeeeeze?"

However, the little lady has amazed us lately, as she demonstrates a alarmingly well-developed comprehension. Last night, she prayed:

Dear Jesus...I'm fine thank you. I pray I have a good night (kisses the air)...Jesus in my heart....AAaaaaay-Men!

And today, she and her mother had the following exchange:

Kelli: What's that? Oh, your pink turtle?
Kelsi: Actually, it's Kaylyn's turtle. I like to play with it, though.

eeep!
