I wouldn't have known this was my 1000th post (from Clarity & Spare Change combined), if Christopher hadn't been alert enough to say so.
And I've thought much about what to write for it. And realizing I only have one shot to get this post exactly right, here's exactly what the Lord placed upon my heart to share:
My secretary, Gail, resigned at the end of last week to take care of her husband Bob, who (you might remember if you are a regular reader), has a rare form of heart disease. The very day after her resignation, his defibrulator triggered, sending him to the hospital.
Bob's heart is operating at 8 percent capacity. That's not a misprint. He has fluid in and around his heart, and because it is so weak, it is badly ineffective at circulating blood through his body, causing a backflow of blood into his heart. He is on a transplant list, and the doctors are discussing how they can be more aggressive in moving him up the list.
Bob received a new medication today and responded surprisingly well to it. Please pray for Bob, that the Lord would provide him with a new heart (and believe me, I'm trusting God to answer that "tricky" prayer perfectly), but also that Bob & Gail will be comforted by the Spirit's presence, and have the assurance of His provision through all their physical and spiritual needs.
