Chigger-ific!
Posted by Bryan

I've never served host to a chigger. Until my trip to Stone Mountain, that is. Now, I have evidence of feeding no less than 31 chiggers.

I have been properly grossed-out by first thinking they had burrowed into my skin, only to discover that his is not the case. Rather, they have simply bit into my skin, secreting an enzyme that partially digests my skin cells for its consumption, for four full days (without intervention, that is) until its fat, bloated body falls off in a drunken stupor.

Kelli, in an attempt to keep me from sratchingmy shinbones raw, covered each of my tiny read, swollen bites with clear nail polish. This has effectively stemmed the madness, except for the desire to pick off the sticky stuff matting my hair legs to my skin.

She's a much better nurse than I am a patient. And the next time I plan on lounging in the Stone Mountain Lawn for the night-time laser show, everyone in a 15-foot radius ought to be prepared for a deet bomb detonation prior to our entertainment. I'll be taking the war to them, so they cannot take it to me.

I have been to Stone Mountain to see the laser show before. It was quite some time ago. I don't recall any of the annoying chiggers though I can attest to how annoying they are.

I went to stone mountain once to see the lazer show, but the line was too long and my parents are impatient, so I didn't get to go. Maybe its a good thing, I would have gotten chiggers. Ick.
