NF-Elway
Posted by Bryan

Denver Bronco legend John Elway served as valedictorian of the 2004 NFL Hall of Fame Inductees.

In his acceptance, he demonstrated many of the qualities that made him such a success on the field. He was the only player to mention the other inductees. He spoke gracefully about all his coaches, even Dan Reeves. He gave credit to his teammates, and returned favor and honor to the Denver fans, which showed up to represent 90 percent of the 20,000 in attendance.

He earned a solid "A" for his final NFL performance, with bonus points for choosing his daughter Jessica to introduce him. Kelli takes a few points away (and I concur) for not giving a token of gratitude for his ex-wife who, for all the years of his career, was undoubtedly a key to it all.

(note: at the time of this writing, 14 of my last 40 hits are related to variations on the query "John Elway Divorce." I guess the omission of Janet's contribution was obvious to other folks, too.)

A died in the wool Bronco fan and one who used to drink with Mr. Elway, I moved from Denver to San Antonio in 1998. Just now, Nov. 2, 2006, have I learned about the divorce. They sure kept it hush, hush. Would like to know the particulars.
Thank you.
