We're checking out of the hotel this AM and heading to Craig. It's been an awesome few days. We'll always cherish the memories of this weekend of surprising the man who can't be surprised, my father-in-law. This has nothing to say about the years it will take to rebuild the trust that was violated by the necessary deception to make it all happen. Also, I may have been a little too clever for my own good when I was reported to have said about my mother-in-law while speaking in code on my cellphone, "The mongoose is in the henhouse, repeat, the mongoose is in the henhouse."

Just for record, I want to make it clear that what I actually said was "The Mom chooses within the Hymn House." This was the actual agreed upon code phrase to alert she was securely held for the impending surprise. At the same time, I do confess to saying "The condor flies at midnight." I don't know why I said that, I think I was just caught up in the drama of the event. This is probably why I was doing the diving somersaults from room to room across the church hallways, too.

I love my mother-in-law.
