This is a legend written by Kaylyn (7) for a school project:

"Ha, Ha!" said Elephant, "Monkey you know why you keep tripping?"

"Yes, I do," said Monkey. "Because I have to keep my eyes on my baby and I'm tripping."

"Oh, I thought it was your tail!" said Elephant.

"Oh no! Jaguar are those bugs?" teased Elephant.

""Not they are my spots I try to keep clean."

"Oh! I thought they were huge bugs attatacking you!" Elephant said.

    "Hi Elephant." said Snake.

"Aah! Little ugly worms all over!" Elephant said. Elephant was looking at the ground and saw Snakes babies. He was trying to make fun of them.

"Stop that!" said Snake, "They are my baby snakes and noone is going to call them worms!" said Snake. Snake and his babies then dissappeared into the trees.

Rabbit came out of his hole and hopped over to Elephant.

"Your so puffy I can hardly tell what you are!" said Elephant. "I'm a beautiful Rabbit!" said Rabbit. "Goodbye."

Elephant went back to his swamp and laughed and laughed until he could not laugh any more.

He looked into the muddy wateer and said, "I'm so.....Ahh! I've grown a third ear!" Elephant said. "I think I know why...." Elephant went back into the jungle and said, "Rabbit, Jaguar, Monkey, and Snake, I have grown another ear!"

Jaguar said, "You have grown another ear because you have been teasing us. It's your punishment."

Elephant looked in a puddle and said, "I'm sorry I have been being mean and, and I will start being nice."

He did start being nice. The next time he went to his swamp he looked into the muddy water and said, "Wow! my third ear has dissapeared!"

He ran to his friends and said, "My third ear has dissapeared! Ya!" From that day on Elephant was nice to his freinds and did not grow another ear.

that's awesome. there was a plot, supporting characters, and a great moral at the end. someone's got a pretty smart dad to teach them all of that:)

Now that was darn cute. And as mentioned above, all the elements of a good story. Really awesome.
