One of Kelsi's favorite games to play is "Mom and Dear" where she is the Mom and I am the Dear (a little girl whom she calls "dear" and "sweetheart").
Today Kelsi, or Mom, was reading from the Etch-A-Sketch (which was her journal) to her youngest baby Emma (her newest baby doll). The story was as follows:
Mary went to Jonathan's house. Mary said, "Goliath, I am going to have a baby." Goliath gave baby Jesus a robe. Joseph and Jonathan were happy. Be nice to your family. The End
Now granted, the story is not at all correct. But, Kelsi is two years old. She attends Sunday school every week and the last few lessons have been:
Mary having a baby named Jesus
Joseph being kind to his brothers
Jonathan giving David his robe
Even though she didn't get all of the details correct, she is learning about God's Word. She can listen and can comprehend, and can name important characters from the Bible lessons and activities.
Preschool Sunday school is important!
It is not just a nursery or childcare.
Preschoolers learn the foundational truths of God's Word.
And a two-year old can learn that the Bible says she should be kind.
I will officially step down from my soap box for today.
Thanks
(P.S. Take your preschoolers to Sunday school!)
