You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

Interesting...given my strong belief in denominational worship and commitment to serve the body through the church. I suppose this points to my low tolerance for "playing church." I'd hope I am spiritual, and not religious.
Also, interesting to me is my low, but not negligent postmodernist score. I think this is something developing in me...not that I think I'll ever buy into postmodernism part and parcel...I just think people are people, and our needs, however nuanced and generational, can be reduced down to basic needs that only God can meet through Jesus. That said, as I type this out battling insomnia (brought on by an impending deadline and an influx of caffiene) while laboriously cataloging my audio files, I don't deny a different generational approach to aging. I think that people are less mature (myself included) as a rule, of any given corresponding generation than the generation prior. Attribute this to a lack of a nationally galvanizing event such as World War II, for generations now, advances in medicine and technology, a dozen other implicating factors, and I think people generally *feel* younger than the someone from the preceding generation at the same age.
But then again, I could just be loopy/rambling.
May 31, 2005 2:00 AMI think it's interesting that your Cultural Creative and Fundamentlaist scores are identical, yet the two would seem to be totally at odds with each other.
Maybe you're schizophrenic?

No, I'm not.
But maybe I am.

You scored as Postmodernist. Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies on context and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.
Postmodernist 75%
Cultural Creative 50%
Fundamentalist 44%
Romanticist 38%
Modernist 19%
Existentialist 13%
Idealist 6%
Materialist 0%
I'm heartened to see the low "Materialist" score, though I'm befuddled at how one can have a high "Postmodernist" and low "Existentialist" score--I think their interpretations of these terms are highly idiosyncratic, and the "Cultural Creative" seems like a nonsense inclusion, while the absence of any category other than "Fundamentalist" for religious thought seems fishy.
These aren't very sophisticated tools, though, so it's mostly fun to see how their grids catch our thoughts. hehe.
A thought: I probably score high on postmodernist because my profession is lit scholar, and I engage with lit crit on a daily basis, often in the Derridean mode. That has some impact on my willingness to assert things in their language.
Enjoy!
