The New Neighbors
Posted by Bryan

My new neighbors may just think I'm possibly insane.

Our home's front entrance has on each side of the sidewalk twin seven-foot trees. Today marked the fourth occasion (since we've arrived, at least) where an ambitious little spider has attempted to create a web spanning the distance between the two. I know this because this is the fourth time I've walked face-first into an invisible-to-my-morning eye wall of spider webbing.

Of course, when I do this, I start waving frantically like there's fire ants canvassing my face. Dropping everything in my arms and grunting like King Kong swiping at the angry airplanes annoying him. On the previous Bryan/web encounter, I was at the apex of a full-on yawn and got a mouthful of arachnidal posterior secretion. Okay, maybe not a "mouthful," but to get any web in my mouth is really more than what I had bargained for. My display that morning was particularly impressive.

So, yeah...I'm the crazy guy waving at imaginary demons every morning. Did I mention that I'm a minister....and won't you come visit my church?

I have some yard work to do.
