I'm torn.
I feel obligated to keep apologizing for my lack of blogging.
Real life has just not afforded such luxuries.
But that's been a good thing.
It's only a case of insomnia that has led to this entry.
So, two options...give it up...or just accept that it is what it is.
At least for the time being.
I don't blame you for not waiting on me to figger it out.
On a completely unrelated note, I do want to officially acknowledge that I have no idea whatsoever what the term "crunk" means, and I'm simply tired of pretending that I do.
That is all.
July 24, 2005 1:43 AMMy vote is, accept that it is what it is for now. Blog when you have the inspiration and the time. I subscribe to your RSS feed so I know when you have found the time.
It's nice to hear from you every now and then. Don't give it up just because it's not as frequent as you may like.
2 cents here.
Posted by: songstress7 at July 26, 2005 12:11 AMSongstress...i appreciate your kind words...I'm always inspired...certainly not suffering from writer's block...but the backlog of ideas requiring ample time to write gives way to the brief entries of lesser value due to the time considerations...and therein lies the conundrum.
Posted by: Bryan at July 26, 2005 6:09 AM"crunk" originated as a style of music, an offshoot (I think) of R&B. The slang term generally means excellent or awesome, as in "That movie was crunk!"
When I taught in Atlanta, I got a crash course in slang. I even know what "boojy" (sp?) and "bootleg" mean. I guess I'm crunk.
Posted by: Warren at July 28, 2005 8:37 PMClearly, after reading your comment, I am the most unhip man in North American. I may as well have been trying to read Farci there.
Posted by: Bryan at July 29, 2005 8:32 AM"boojy" = bourgeoise (hope that's spelled correctly!). It's been extended to mean upper-middle class, with any and all accompanying attitudes.
"bootleg" is roughly equivalent to "just plain wrong." An example I heard a lot:
Me: Ok, clear your desks except for a blank sheet of paper for a quiz.
Class: QUIZ!!!??? It's MONDAY!! Mr. Kelly, that's bootleg!
