It seems as though all the fire alarms in our home were given new batteries at approximately the same time. For, in the third time within a week, another has begun to alert us that its 9-Volt power supply is waning. This time it was Cotter's room alarm. He tried to put the pillow over his head to escape the periodic beep, but never thought to come get me.
Thoughtful boy.
I slept through the whole thing.
