Above Average, Thank You
Posted by Bryan

The Meme that's all the rage, from the looks of things...

It is the average American Meme. All the items listed are things that apply to average Americans. The ones crossed out are the ones that do not apply to me, with comments.

Eats peanut butter at least once a week. I forgot to journal when I last had peanut butter, so I can't report the actual frequency. I'll do better next time.

Prefers smooth peanut butter over chunky. I do prefer smooth, but will have chunky now and again, just to spice things up in the kitchen.

Can name all Three Stooges. Yes, but I can't stand them. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't get it. Nothing funny down that road.

Lives within a 20-minute drive of a Wal-Mart. I think it's about 5 minutes, actually.

Eats at McDonald's at least once a year. No....everywhere else, but not there.

Takes a shower for approximately 10.4 minutes a day. Approximately...sure. I can't be sure because my stopwatch wasn't waterproof, and stopped working when I took it in with me.

Never sings in the shower. Can't say "never." Most often, no. But rarely, occasionally, I do grace the family with a sunrise performance of the essential Neil Diamond hits.

Lives in a house, not an apartment or condominium. Guilty.

Has a home valued between $100,000 and $300,000. We rent the home we live in. So technically, I don't "have" one. When we begin looking to buy after our lease is up, I'll try to remember to remove the strike code.

Has fired a gun. He even owns a few. I have fired a gun. Many guns. Many times. I own one gun. I anticipate receiving more, if only by inheritance.

Is between 5 feet and 6 feet tall . 6'2"

Weighs 135 to 205 pounds No. I don't believe any man should weigh over 120 lbs, regardless of height.

Is between the ages of 18 and 53. 33

Believes gambling is an acceptable entertainment option. I think gambling is foolish. If you think losing money is "entertainment," well...okay. But let's not party together.

Grew up within 50 miles of current home This map says 1049 miles. Apparently, it doesn't know that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. I think we can cut a couple hundred miles off that by driving the c2 route, rather than the a2 and b2 legs.
