Another Movie Review
Posted by

Okay, so having so much time off work allowed me to catch up on some movies. I will get to my review of Syriana in a minute but first, I need to vent.

I went to see Syriana two days after my 28th birthday. I walked to the box office where I informed the (barely old enough to drive) girl behind the counter what movie I was purchasing tickets for. This is the point at which the travesty took place. I was asked to show my I.D. What!?! I have been told that I look younger than I really am and have experienced this "carding" many times before. I guess I just assumed that 28 was the magic age where I would be immune to this insult. My initial thoughts were "I am 28 years old, thank you very much" and "Do you think I look like the other kids in your elementary school!" Don't worry, I kept these comments to myself. Many people say that my youthful looks are a good thing. For a single, 28 year-old man, it isn't so great. Now, on to the review.

Syriana
I wanted to see this movie because of the previous work by the two main actors and because it was nominated for a golden globe. I can describe this movie with this sentence:
The number blue is the center and my breakfast ate my dog's homework.
Are you thoroughly confused? Good. This is one percent of the confusion that is "Syriana." This movie is more schizophrenic than Sybil on a bad day. It was one of the worst movies that I have ever seen and two hours of my life that I will never have back. What is it about? I haven't the foggiest...oil, i think. Don't waste your time or $8.50.
