Big Week @ FBCG

Our church's student ministry began DNow last night. Approximately 95 kids are taking part in it. David Glenn is leading worship. I met David when I worked at NAMB and he led worship for our National Challenger's Rally. He is so good at leading students into worship. His songs are great at pointing you toward Christ and taking the focus off your self. We went to last night's opening session and were blessed incredibly.

Jon Randles is our DNow preacher. He opened the weekend with a good challenge to our students to not just be religious, to not just be 'Christians,' but to be as Christ called them to be -- disciples. Please pray for our students that this awesome message will resonate with our students because the Lord has anointed their ears to receive God's truth, and that lives will be changed.

On Sunday, our church is hosting a Super Bowl party* on a grand scale. We're building a jumbotron inside our gymnasium that, when completed, will be 12 feet of High Definition Viewing Superboliciousness. I predict more than one person will jump out of their chair** with the notion that Troy Polamalu and his 48 acres of freeflowing hair are flying crazily out of the screen. Free food, games for the kids, dozens of giveaways.

Oh, and did I mention Cody Hodges? Yeah, that's right. Cody Hodges wil be there, too.

So, if you're within driving distance of the church, come watch the game with us. It'll be a better party than the one you planned, or planned to go to. Goodness, there's an airport right down the road from our church, a little one with a couple runways...it's called DFW....if you are within flying distance, come on over, we'd love to have you watch the game with us.

And if you spend Sunday with us, you might as well stick around Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Because that's when LIFEfest begins. Each night, Jon Randles will share a special message designed to inspire, encourage, and challenge you. We've been praying for this event for 40 days, that God will change us, and that he'll touch lives and bring hope to the hurting. Please, if you are anywhere near 301 E. Texas Street in Grapevine, come over at 7 PM; it will be an unforgettable experience.

And those of you who are Christ-followers, if you want to see revival in our days, we covet your prayers that it would begin at LIFEfest, and that it would be a movement that would sweep across our lands. We covet your prayers in this.
