Okay, so there's this deal, a scathing report on my former employer, blowing up inside my denomination.
And here's my employer's response.
And here's a word of support by a trustee.
And here's the wire feed via Associated Baptist Press, a la the Telephone Wire game where interpretation plays a large part in shaping the evolution of the message...interesting to see which elements are emphasized and which are minimized.
The criticial analysis was written by Joe Westbury, an editor at The Christian Index, Georgia Baptist's state paper. He was also one of my most reliable freelance writers for Men@WORK magazine. At one time, he served on staff at the Board, back before it was NAMB, if I remember correctly. I never once questioned Joe's skills as a writer or his journalistic integrity, although the work he did for me was certainly more feature-oriented, and written with the purpose to positively communicate the good work of Southern Baptist laymen around North America.
I, like anyone who is moderately informed about these things, have an opinion. I, like all those same folks, don't really matter. As all this plays out, I will say conclusively, I'm glad I'm in Texas, and not in Georgia. My friends, former colleagues, and upline bosses all have my most sincere prayers during this tumult.

Posted by: Myron McCarsonally at February 21, 2006 1:10 PMMyron and Melvin are always welcome in the Lone Star State. There is a lot of ministry to be done here!
Posted by: Bryan at February 22, 2006 8:18 AMEloquently put, Mac. Definitely interesting in GA at the moment, to say the least. We'll see in the days to come all God desires to be revealed. He has a way of uncovering that which is hidden. Thanks for your continued prayers for us and the work we are doing for Him here. May He alone be glorified!
Posted by: Melvin at February 22, 2006 1:49 PMThis cowboy is happy he has a new pasture as well. Although it's not in Texas.
I regret to say I feel most of those comments are true based on the time I was in the stable there. And the lead cowboy definitely has some issues.
