Insomnia Meming
Posted by Bryan

Don't drink an "energy drink" at 11:30 PM. That's the lesson to be learned here. And the real problem was that it was Na-haaaaaasssty. I drank the thing out of the principle that I spent $1.99 on it. It tasted like I was choking down something the Juiceman had blended up from his lawn clippings and compost pile.

Anyway...thanks Jen.

1. Were you named after anyone?
First name - a high school friend of my parents. Middle name...after uncles on both sides whose middle names were also "Eugene." Lovely, I know. I'm pitchign the story to Lifetime Television next week.

2. Do you wish on stars?
No. But don't let me stop you from that delusional distraction, if you're so inclined.

3. Do you like your hand writing?
Yes. It's pretty, like my mother's. And don't think that happened by coincidence. Many long hours were required to duplicate the McAnally signature on hall passes.*

4. What is your favorite meat?
Big dead cow.

5. What is the most embarrassing CD on your shelf?
Oh, there are so many. Probably my Anne Murray Greatest Hits 3 CD Megapack.

6. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you?
I would. But then again, I like me.

7. Are you a daredevil?
If by "daredevil," you mean "willing to test the limits of Blockbuster's 'No Late Fee' Policy," then yes, yes I am.

8. When was the last time you cried?
I'm not much of a crier. But my heart has been broken three times in the past 3 weeks. I'll share more later, I'm sure.

9. Did you ever tell a secret you weren’t supposed to?
Not in a long, long time.

10. How do you release anger?
Just pack, pack, pack it down until it violently explodes, just like I was taught. I kid, I kid. I've been known to raise my voice in rare circumstances.

11. Where is your second home?
My church, I suppose.

12. Do you trust others easily?
I do. I believe that's what I'm supposed to do.

13. What class in college do you think is totally useless?
Music Appreciation. We called it Clapping for Credit.

14. Have you ever been in a mosh pit?
Not on purpose. That was the last time I went to *that* Catholic church.

15. What do you look for in a guy?
Umm...I look to make sure she's not one. But I haven't been looking for a gal in long, long time. And don't expect to ever again.

16. Would you do a bungee jump?
I cannot fathom a circumstance that would ever bring that absurdity to bear.

17. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Something chocolately...maybe with caramel...or mint.

18. What is your least favorite thing?
Vomiting. Seriously.

19. How many people do you have a crush on right now?
One. I was on a date with her tonight, marvelling how blest I am to be married to someone so lovely and amazing as my Kelli.

20. What do you miss most right now?
I want for nothing.

21. What are you listening to right now?
The Hustle (Super Hustle Mix) by Van McCoy...it started on Van Halen, really.

22. What is the weather like right now?
Rainy...Tornado watches....looks like Cotter's ballgame is in peril.

23. Last person you talked to on the phone?
My brother. He was making hotel arrangements for us for a trip we have planned. It's nice to have a resort muckety muck for a sibling.

24. The first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
I don't know...I'm so bad at this. I always notice if they're married, and if they are, how they speak of their husband.

25.Favorite drink non-alcoholic?
I like iced tea and coffee. and ice cold milk.

26.Favorite alcoholic drink?
I am a teetotaller. An abstainer. Which is not to be confused with an Ab Trainer.

27. Haircolor?
Dark Brown, with 19 grays, according to Kaylyn's recent count.

28. Eyecolor?
Dark Brown

29. Wear contacts?
I wear glasses.

30. Last movie you watched?
We started the Manchurian Candidate (the remake) tonight, but Kelli fell asleep, and I wasn't willing to commit by myself.

31. Favorite day of the year?
On principle, Easter. In practice, my children's & wife's birthdays.

32. How many people have a crush on you right now?
I can't imagine anyone other than hopefully my bride. I go to extraordinary lengths to avoid miscommunicating this type of message.

33. Scary movies or happy endings?
I like "real" scary, not horror. I like happy endings if it was a believable journey to get there. I'd rather an ending be challenging, provocative, and interesting than simply accomodating or convenient.

34. Summer or winter?
I like them both.

35. What book/magazine are you reading at the moment?
I'm concurrently in the books of Luke & John. I just received my ESPN magazine in the mail, so I'm sure it'll distract me for a few minutes, periodically.**

36. What’s on your mouse pad?
Office...a custom made photo pad of Kelli and me, from a friend at a former church. Home...the Broncos.

37. What did you watch on TV last night?
Survivor, Earl, Office.

37.Favorite Smell?
I like the perfume Kelli wears...my kids when they're in their pajamas, cuddling, fresh from a shower.

Food wise...roast in the oven, steak on the grill.

38. Do you regret ever breaking up with someone?
No. I've regretted *how* I've broken up with some girls, but not ever that the break up happened.

39.Favorite actor/actress?
I don't have a favorite, I don't think. Although tonight I did tell Kelli, "I like Liev Schreiber as an actor, although I have no idea whether I like him as a person." For whatever that's worth.

*in theory of course.

**periodically...because it's a magazine...get it?!

My advice is to not bother finishing The Manchurian Candidate (remake) and for you to rent The Manchurian Candidate (original) instead. The former is awful, the latter is brilliant.

That said, Liev Schreiber is a great, great actor - even in The Manchurian Candidate (remake).
