Stay Tuned....or Not
Posted by Bryan
I've never watched a full episode of any of the following:
- The OC
- CSI
- CSI New York
- Law & Order
- Law & Order SVU
- Law & Order Criminal Intent
- Cold Case
- Close to Home
- Navy CIS
- Conviction
- Crossing Jordan
- Las Vegas
- Medium
- Teachers
- The West Wing
- Commander in Chief
- Criminal Minds
- Ghost Whisperer
- Numb3rs
- Out of Practice
- Still Standing
- The Unit
- Love Monkey
- Boston Legal
- Freddie
- Grey's Anatomy
- Hope & Faith
- Invasion
- What about Brian?
- 24
- American Dad
- America's Most Wanted
- Bones
- Family Guy
- Hell's Kitchen
- King of the Hill
- Malcolm in the Middle
- Prison Break
- The War at Home
- Anything on the WB
- Anything on UPN
A couple of caveats and disclaimers:
- If you are surprised to not see a title on this list, it may be because I have regretfully seen at least a single episode, such as Rodney or According to Jim, OR, I'm not sure it's really a show and maybe the station is just yanking our chain...is there really a program on Fox called Skating with Celebrities? I thought that was just a MadTV skit.
- I tried not to list Reality TV shows, because there are so many of them. In a season where the wrong person won Survivor, Chris is out on Idol, and I lost interest in both the Apprentice and The Amazing Race, Reality TV is a genre on the wan.
Your Turn...what needs to come off this list? I can't promise to watch it because you said so, but I can promise to at least to think of your argument the next time I choose to keep on clicking past it.
Now, because the Internet is wonderful...here's a preliminary list of shows that will be added to Must Not See TV next fall:
CBS - No obvious stink bombs that I can forecast by their scintillating preview summaries.
ABC
- Big Day. A full season about one day of a wedding. Like 24, except without the action, drama, suspense, intrigue...or humor.
- The Underbelly. Rachel Harris is funny, but I'm skeptical on the premise.
- Betty the Ugly. True, it is a translation of a latin sensation....yet I doubt I'm the target demographic.
- Help Me Help You. Ted Danson leads group therapy to settle the inter-cranial conflict between Sam Malone and Dr. Decker.
- Let's Rob.... Let's not.
- Men in Trees. I've not been pining for another Anne Heche vehicle. I'd rather leaf this one fir the critics.
- Brothers and Sisters. The same as the previous one, except replace "Anne Heche" with "Calista Flockhart," and remove all the bad tree puns. Although this show brags not one, but two - TWO - Alias veterans. Sloane, on the same team with Thomas Grace. I think Rimbaldi's behind this.
NBC
- Friday Night Lights. It's on Tuesday's for cryin' out loud! I may not watch this out of protest.
- Kidnapped. No thank you. I'm already overprotective, no need to totally ruin my children's lives.
Fox
- Happy Hour. Reading this shows premise is tortuous. I can't imagine that the show itself will be any better.
- Standoff. I don't care for conflict.
- Vanished. At least I know where Ming Na is now. That's enough for me, really.
- The Wedding Album. Seriously...a drama about a wedding photographer?!? Good luck with that.
You may now return to your regular programming.

My list would look exactly like yours, except for the fact that I've seen episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Love Monkey, What About Brian, and Family Guy. (I saw one episode of Family Guy.) Also, I watch Gilmore Girls on the WB.
I haven't even heard of many of the show titles you listed.
As far as Reality TV goes, I watched Project Runway and Top Chef, but that's about it.
