In what surely must be an effort to distract the American public from the horrible offenses of Republican Congressman Mark Foley, somehow Karl Rove convinced former Democrat Congressman Gerry Studds to die. Studds was the first openly gay congressman and was censured in 1983 for 10 years earlier having committed the same--and worse--predatorial behavior as Foley would attempt 23 years later, with the assistance of modern technology.
