Thanksgiving 2006
Posted by Bryan

I am thankful for my bride Kelli, my greatest gift apart from salvation.
I am thankful for my Kaylyn, a young lady who hungers for the things of God.
I am thankful for my Cotter, my son who is a boy with kindness in his heart.
I am thankful for my Kelsi Girl, my "Lil Bit," whose love for God and others grows daily.
I am thankful for my brother and father, my dearest friends as well as my family.
I am thankful for my mother, who I miss terribly on this first holiday without her.
I am thankful for my in-laws, equally family in every way.
I am thankful for my church, the place my family I "call home."
I am thankful for my ministry, where my faith is strengthened through service.
I am thankful for my many friends, who have generously shared my sorrows and my joys.
I am thankful for my life, days filled with purpose and direction according to God's plan.

Most of all, I am thankful for the Son...
...who left heaven so that I may enter it.
...who died so that I may live.
...who gave so that I may receive.
...who became sin, so that I may become glorified.
...who was rejected by men so that I may be accepted by God.
...who defeated the Enemy because I could not.

For the Spirit...
...who numbers my days and counts the hairs on my head.
...who directs my path and enlightens my understanding.
...who eases my burdens and comforts my grief.
...who exhorts, rebukes, corrects, convicts and encourages me.
...who gives me wisdom, liberally and without prejudice.
...who loves me perfectly, despite my imperfections.

For the Father...
...who created me, sought me, redeemed me, sanctifies me, and will one day glorify me.
...who is the giver of every good gift.
...who is the author, sustainer, and completer of time and events.
...who holds me safe in his hands.
...who shows his face of grace and mercy through love.
...who offers reconciliation freely to any who seek it.
...who is living, active, and unchanging in his holy and loving nature.

I am blessed, and my bounty overflows. I deserve nothing, yet have been given so much. To the One who gives so freely, spoken gratitude is inadequate. May the conduct of my life reflect my appreciation for all that I enjoy this day and every day.
