The publisher's site for my upcoming book, Take A Closer Look, has updated my page with my portrait.
I'm laughing at myself. I'm really not a photogenic guy...I look like I'm trying out my Clint Eastwood impression.
A man in our church very graciously spent an afternoon taking "head shots" of me for this purpose. And he is no amateur. He's the guy who took these photos that went across the news wires a few years ago.
He took 300 or so pictures that day. Then he sent me a CD with the "best photos." There were eight jpgs on that CD.
That'll keep you humble.
Now, I see the one that was determined to be the pick of the litter, insofar as the publisher is concerned.
And it'll really keep you humble.
Actually, I'm just encouraging you to squint, like I am doing in my picture. Take a closer look.
Get it?
It's all about the marketing.
Just remember, you're buying the book for the content, not the glamor.
