Up With Worship: An Opening Discussion
Posted by Bryan

up with worshipI offer this with much fear and trepidation...the first of several conversations we are having at the church about worship. We're using Anne Ortlund's phenomenal book Up With Worship to guide the discussion.

In this initial conversation, we talked about the definition of worship, what makes worship so "emotional," and even tried to tackle the big issue of "genuine worship."

Surprise cameos in the conversation were U2 & Kurt Cobain. Listen in and leave your own thoughts in the comments (if they are working...if not, shoot an email to me and I'll see if I can fix it).

We gather tonight for conversation #2...tonight we'll talk about:

  • what makes it hard to have focused worship?

  • Do we really worship together, or just in each other's company?

  • What does "perfect" worship look like?

Bryan...I enjoyed the discussion. Thank you for practically idenifying and peeling away many human misconceptions of worship in order to reveal God's desire for our worship. I'm looking forward to hearing more. I thoroughly enjoy Up with Worship by Anne Ortland. She is one of my favorite writers...besides you, of course!
