Here is the story of how Kerry, a member of FBCG, discovered that there are good, practical reasons to come to church.
It saved his life.
And I don't mean in the "come to Jesus" way.
Kerry regularly partakes in our midday men's basketball games, as well as the men's league.
In a recent game, he drove in for a basket and made the hoop. He then celebrated the score with a dangerous myocardial infarction.
Quick work by alert minister of recreation Bryan Anderson and friend/ER Doc Travis (also a FBCG member) made the difference between a feel-good story and a funeral.
By the by, our church has three emergency defibrillators, an increase of two since this incident. Your church should have at least one.
