Is Your Best Life Now Just a Game to Joel Osteen?
Posted by Bryan

I never would have thought so, but then I found this at the clearance rack at the mall book store:

I used to think that Osteen just wanted me to have my best life now. I thought he cared enough to tell me countless variations of the same message week in and week out, not burdening me with any positivity-inhibiting thoughts about sin and repentance. I thought his aim in life was to tell me to smile wide and expect the best, measuring success by my health, prosperity, position, prestige, and power.

Now, though, I'm not so sure. I'm beginning to think that maybe, just possibly, the young man may be in this ministry just for the money.

I was prepared to be shocked and dismayed and maybe just more than a little appalled, but then I saw Vatican: From Cardinal to Pope, from the creative team that brought you Indulgence: Purgatory Deliverance!

So apparently board games are the new discipleship.

Perhaps I need to create a game version of Take a Closer Look. Unfortunately, all I could think up was a reprint of the book in large type with a complementary magnifying glass.
