Dancing Monkeys
Posted by Bryan

The preface to the video goodness below...

I'm working on a Bible study for our annual Sunday school lesson on stewardship. As I tend to do as I write, I'm listening to instrumental music. I do this because it is good back-ground noise that filters distractions.

This morning, the music happened to be the soundtrack from Riverdance.

Kaylyn approached and asked about the music. So we talked about the phenomenon that was Riverdance, and I showed her a clip on YouTube.

Kelsi was attracted to the foot-stompin' good time. I tried to convince her that Michael Flatley and I were one and the same, and that Kelli and I enjoyed a successful career as Riverdancers becoming parents. She cocked her head like an inquisitive spaniel and asked, "For real?"

Ultimately, she decided I was not "for real," based on three conclusions:

1. Flatley and I look nothing alike.
2. He has "high hair."
3. He wears "high heels."

And from there, we all enjoyed this...

And that, dear friends and readers, is the anatomy of a distraction.
