Coming this summer, only fourteen years since Hilary Swank came on to the scene kung foo fightin, Hollywood offers The Next Next Karate Kid.
This newest sequel attempts to present itself as an original tale, but comes to your big screen featuring not one, but two Mr. Miyagis, an Italian-American prodigy with Grasshopper-like moves, and a baddy to top even the well-coiffed Johnny Lawrence.
Okay...I have to interrupt this blog entry to mention how this random-rif has led me to what may be perhaps possibly just maybe the best morsel of YouTube gold...No More Kings' Sweep the Leg, featuring many from the original cast of The Karate Kid, including William Zabka and Ralph Macchio.
Genius, I say.
This was so awesome that I changed the title of the entry to reflect its awesomeness.
And now you will have to excuse me while I go see about buying a copy of the original film on DVD and devote my next block of free time trying to capture a housefly with chopsticks. And in future correspondence with me, if you happen to notice me closing our communications with "Sweeping the Leg," now you will know why.
