Friend Wheel

Okay...this is fascinating to me....and yet another reason why I totally dig facebook.

The friendwheel application shows how all my facebook friends are connected to one another.

All the names gown from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock are my church relationships. All the names from about 3 to 5 are my NAMB friends. Everyone from 8 o'clock to 3 o'clock are my family, school, and other friends.

What does this show? Well, it shows that the Christian community is a pretty tiight network, at least as illustrated by facebook.

It also illustrates that our circle of friends must contain unchurched friends. One thing we hear a lot from church folks is that they "don't know anyone who isn't a member of the church." I am compelled by this visual to try to expand my non-church part of the wheel, and also to try to create more spokes in my wheel by introducing more of my church friends to more of my unchurched (or non-church) friends.
