Dear Heavenly Father,
You created the heavens and the earth, and they reflect your glory. You alone are worthy of all praise, for You are God alone, alone holy, righteous, all-knowing, pure, true, sovereign, faithful, marvelous, wonderful, magnificent, loving, and lovely. You are the Author of all creation, and the Author of our blessed salvation through Your Son, Christ Jesus, whom you sent to the cross to bear our sins, and raised from the grave on the third day to signify that His sacrifice was wholly acceptable for our sins, past, present, and future. You are seated on Your throne in heaven, and nothing which occurs on Earth surprises you or causes You alarm, unlike ourselves who are fearful for the noises of Your oxen attending to Your threshing floor. You have seated Your Son Jesus at Your righteous right hand, "far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." All power and authority is granted on earth at Your command, from the least to the greatest.
As a nation we have turned from You and Your ways. We have allowed every form of media that we have to be corrupted with values which are contrary to Your commandments and statutes. Thinking ourselves to be wise for the technology which You allowed us to create, we became fools and slaves to it. We have allowed your commandments and statutes to be turned aside without lifting our voices in outrage. We have repeatedly allowed concessions where we should have drawn the line and stood our ground for You were with us. We have sat by far too long without standing together for what is right and have allowed the enemy to separate us from one another as well as from You. Although we gather together in small groups, we are altogether scattered like so much grain in the wind, each segment being blown its own way rather than all turning towards You and serving Your will in power and truth.
Lord, You alone know the remnant among our nation that You have left for Yourself. You alone can ignite the passion of our hearts and drawn us back to You, Your commandments, and Your statutes. Lord, You alone can ignite our hearts, our families, our cities, our states, and our nation with revival. The time has come for us to not only continue to pray for revival, and also to live the revival we all so dearly desire. Thank you so very much for blessing our nation these past two centuries; please forgive us for turning so fully away from Your will. Please draw our hearts back to You Father, and bind our hearts together to stand against the enemy and his plans to sift us and our nation. Please guide our nation back to You, and guide us all through the upcoming elections to elect those leaders whom You have raised for a time such as this. May our choices in the next few months honor You and serve Your will.
