Presidential Prayer Day 17
Posted by Bryan

Lord,

I lift up to you the spiritual, emotional, relational, and civic needs of women in America. I pray that women would be honored and respected and be held in high regard. I pray that women would have equal rights as men, would be rewarded for their contributions the same as men, and that every woman would have the same access to opportunity as men.

At the same time, Lord, I ask that women be honored for that which makes them different from men. I pray that our land would hold in nobility the important role that women contribute to our society as wives and mothers, sisters and daughters. I pray that any woman who chooses to stay at home would be respected as much as the woman who decides to enter the workplace. I ask that our nation does not demean the "hockey moms" and "soccer moms" by minimizing their contributions to the families of America. I pray that you give the women of America great faith. I pray that you give them the courage of their convictions. I ask you to give them perseverance for the difficulties of motherhood, and the patience required of being a spouse. I ask that you provide to them the understanding of your love for them that empowers them to love others.

Finally, I ask that you lead more and more women to choose life. I pray that you reveal truth to any woman struggling with the important decision of their future and that they would not see the prospect of mothering a baby to be a burden or an obstacle, but instead as a blessing and an opportunity. I pray that you would lead women to have faith in their parenting that is rested in your Lordship over their life.

Amen.
