Presidential Prayer Day 18
Posted by Bryan

Lord, I lift up the men of America today. I ask you to be Lord in their lives. So many men are trying to fulfill their responsibilities as husbands and dads, as the leaders of their home, but are doing it without knowing you or following you. Men are working as hard as ever, as long as ever, but as ineffectively as ever. Our nation is filled with children who don't know their fathers, who don't have close relationships with their dads, and who don't have the necessary leadership and guidance of a loving dad.

Please reconcile broken relationships between men and their children. Please impress upon the dads of our land the need our nation's children to be close to their dads. I ask you to break the generational curse that plagues our land for men to father children that they never claim responsibility in parenting.

Lord, please give dads the courage to be the spiritual leaders of our nation's homes. Please give men wisdom in their fathering. Give them the courage to be godly examples to their sons so our boys can grow up knowing what it means to be a man. Please give dads the strength to be a godly example to their daughters so they will see the type of man they should be seeking in a future husband. Help men love their wives the way that Christ loves his church -- patiently, sacrificially, and in deep, faithful devotion.

May America be strengthened by the faithfulness of our men. May American men increase in their prayer and commitment to you, and may men lead our nation in a spiritual renewal that our people would seek your face and turn from our selfish ways that have alienated us from you.

Amen.
